I was rooting around in one of my storage spaces last weekend and found an old concert flyer from the 1980’s.
The performers being showcased read like a Best of the 80’s CD compilation. Click here to peruse who’s live performance you missed in August/September of 1984. Included are:
- Bonnie Hayes and the Wild Combo
- The Cars
- Elvis Costello
- Echo and the Bunnymen
- Eurythmics
- The Go-Go’s
- Herbie Hancock
- Billy Idol
- Howard Jones
- Greg Kihn Band
- Nick Lowe
- Eddie Money
- Randy Newman
- The Pretenders
- The Psychedelic Furs
- Steel Pulse
- Ratt
- Linda Ronstadt
- Simple Minds
- James Taylor
- Wang Chung
- Yes
There is no year stated on the sheet, I had to do a little internet homework to finally pin this down to 1984. I actually attended the Billy Idol concert at Cal Expo, which is probably where I got the flyer.
Also please note the ticket prices, average of $13.50-$15.50 per show, the highest being $25 for reserved seating at Ronstadt (with Nelson Riddle’s full orchestra).
I also scanned the flip side of the flyer, but cut it into two sections here and here.
