I was saddened to hear of Don Knotts passing last Friday. At a young age I was particularly fond of his spooky comedy “The Ghost and Mr. Chicken.” That film has an incredibly simple premise, but Knott’s performance really carried the concept through. So I just watched the new CD I bought tonight, that is, I watched the “bonus DVD” that came with it. The CD is called Devo 2.0, and it consists of a teenybopper group offering up covers of classic Devo songs, as well as two new songs.
And the new Devo songs are “official” Devo [...]
The other toy I got has been much more satisfying, a purchase from Woot.com. It’s a Pioneer 1000 Watt 5.1 Surround System. It’s certainly not a state of the art system, but it’s better than my TV speakers and my first real experience with the realm of home Dolby Pro-Logic. The first surround movie I watched with it was X2, and it’s no surprise that it greatly enhanced my experience of the film….
